We know chocolate tastes good but did you know that certain chocolate may actually be good for you? Research studies have reported some evidence that cocoa and other chocolates may help keep high blood pressure down, your blood flowing and your heart healthy. Chocolate is rich in flavonoids which have diverse antioxidant effects. Antioxidants protect the body from aging caused by free radicals, which can cause damage that leads to heart disease. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants (nearly 8 times the number found in strawberries), and far more than milk or white chocolate.

Heart Health Benefits of Dark Chocolate:
- Lower Blood Pressure: Studies have shown that consuming a small bar of dark chocolate everyday can reduce blood pressure in individuals with high blood pressure.
- Lower Cholesterol: Dark chocolate has also been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) by up to 10 percent.
Keep in mind chocolate is still a high-calorie, high-fat food. Most of the studies done used no more than 100 grams, or about 3.5 ounces, of dark chocolate a day to get the benefits.
One bar of dark chocolate has around 400 calories. If you eat half a bar of chocolate a day, you must balance those 200 calories by eating less of something else. Cut out other sweets or snacks and replace them with chocolate to keep your total calories the same.

Musical Hearts
You will need:
- Large (laminated if possible) red hearts taped to the floor, one for each child to stand on
How To Play: Every child begins by standing on a heart that has been taped to the floor. Start the music and have the children walk around the room. When the music stops they need to stand on a heart or they're out. Remove one heart after each musical segment. The last child remaining wins.

Pin the Heart on Cupid
You will need:
- Big picture of Cupid
- A red heart, for each child, with adhesive on back and their name on the front
- Blindfold
How To Play: Blindfold the player, spin them around and let them try to stick the heart where it's supposed to go. The player that gets the closest wins.
