How to enter
Visit any Price Chopper location between from March 9 through March 18, 2008, and fill out an official ballot entry. From these ballots we randomly choose the participants in the event. There are some restrictions and additional details in the official rules, but below is a summary of what you can expect - or, check out the video from last year's event!

Choosing The Team
One Grand Prize Semi-Finalist will be selected from each store in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received on or about March 24, 2008. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. These semi-finalists will compete in a series of Slam Dunk Savings events scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2008, at our Clifton Shoppers World location.
The events are:

Event 1 - Dribbling Obstacle Course Each Semi-Finalist dribbles a basketball through an obstacle course while trying not to accrue five-second penalties for traveling, knocking down an obstacle or other infractions. The top ninety (90) percent with the fastest time advance to the next event!

Event 2 - Shopping Cart Bounce Shot Contestants must get five basketballs into a Price Chopper shopping cart from 15 feet away using a bounce shot ... within 40 seconds! Each ball must bounce on the ground once and remain in the cart, without touching any object, any person or the ceiling before entering the cart. Make the shots and you'll advance to our Smart Shopper Shoot-Out.

Event 3 - Smart Shopper Shoot-Out Do you think you're a smart shopper? If you make it to our third event, you'll knowledge of products and prices will be challenged!

Event 4 - Slam "Plunk" Made it this far? Take your best shot - or actually, four of them! Each shot you make earns you "Plunk Points" from the Slam Plunk board. The top 2 participants advance to the final event ... the Grand Prize Finalist Spin & Shoot!

Event 5 - Spin & Shoot Here's your chance to win $2,500 in cash and a 2008 GT Convertible Ford Mustang (4.6L, 3V OHC V8 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, torch red exterior, dark charcoal leather interior with standard equipment, plus black cloth convertible roof, interior upgrade package, satin aluminum panel, active anti-theft system, Sirius satellite radio with 6 month service, comfort group, heated seats and convertible boot cover). What will you have to do? Simple - just make one the shot from the foul line ... immediately after spinning around a baseball bat 3 times! Each of the remaining 2 contestants gets a try - and the first to score during the same round the other doesn't is the winner!
