You can celebrate Earth Day by making a conscious effort to help reduce the amount of waste in the environment. And in the process you can save on your grocery bill! Re-use a bag and we'll credit your order 3 cents for each (paper, plastic, or canvas bag) returned and used to pack your order. You can also refuse a bag if you are just buying 1 or 2 items. Just let the cashier know if you don't need a bag. This is just another way in which a small action on your part can have a big impact on the environment.

Reduce, Re-use and Recycle
Did you now your used Price Chopper plastic bags could be recycled into new ones? We are proud to be working with Hilex Poly, a founding member of the Progressive Bag Alliance, on a new bag recycling initiative called Bag 2 Bag. The program encourages the systematic use, reuse and recycling of plastic shopping bags, which require 40% less energy to produce than paper bags, generate 80% less solid waste than paper bags, produce 70% fewer atmospheric emissions than paper bags and release up to 94% fewer waterborne wastes. Simply dispose your used bags in the Bag 2 Bag bins located in the store vestibule next to the bottle return machines and they are then recycled into new bags.
