Luvin' Lunchbox Ideas

Where do we start?! There are a lot of ways to make lunch a happy time for your kids. Try these ideas - I'll bet they'll remember what they had for lunch, too!

All foods fit - a couple of cookies wrapped up in plastic wrap with a ribbon around it, a mini chocolate bar - in moderation, they make great additions to lunches, and stay in the "occasional sweet" category.Use cookie cutters to make "puzzlewiches". Cut a shape out of the center of the sandwich, then slice into pieces around that shape. Jumble up the pieces as you put them in the bag, and write "puzzlewich" on the bag!
Nothing like a note from home - a silly joke they can tell their friends, a little encouragement about a test that day, a promise of a little surprise for dinner ... these little connections from home go a long way. They may help fill some of the "gap" of quality time lost to our busy lifestyles. If your younger kids are "brown-bagging" it, let them decorate their own, or their sibling's lunch bag while you're making dinner. It keeps them occupied, and connected to preparing their lunch.
Decorate their sandwich and snack bags with stickers of favorite characters or fun sayings.
