1. Earning Discounts
 How do I earn Fuel AdvantEdge Discounts?
Every time you reach a $50 spending level at any participating Price Chopper with your Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card, you earn a 10¢ Fuel AdvantEdge discount off every gallon of gas (up to 20 gallons) at participating Sunoco Stations. You don't need to spend $50 all at once.

 Where can I earn discounts?
You can earn Fuel AdvantEdge discounts at all participating Price Chopper grocery stores.

 Do I need to use my AdvantEdge Card?
Yes! Have your full-sized AdvantEdge card or key tag scanned every time you make a purchase at Price Chopper - including purchases at the Photo Lab, Floral department, Deli, Bakery or Food Court. Even your paid prescription co-pay is included in the program! There are some exclusions however - see the related FAQ, "Do I earn disounts with every item I purchase?".

 Is there a limit to how many discounts I can earn?
There is NO LIMIT to how many discounts you can earn.

 What if I spend more than $50?
You don't lose credit for the amount you spent above the $50 discount level. Any amount you spend over the $50 level remains on your account, waiting for your next visit. At your next visit, your purchases and the "carry over" from your prior trip are added together to determine your new discount level. Remember, EVERY $50 you spend gets you an additional 10¢ per gallon discount.

 What if I spend less than $50?
That's OK, we keep track of what you spend and will add your purchases together. When you reach the $50 level you will earn a 10¢ per gallon discount.

 Do I earn disounts with every item I purchase?
No. This offer excludes purchases of alcohol, tobacco, dry cleaning, Price Chopper brand gift cards, money orders, Western Union, lottery tickets, postage stamps, entertainment tickets, event passes, video rentals, bottle deposits, copy/fax services, taxes and other items prohibited by law. Offer also excludes any Medicare, Medicaid or Private Insurer's portion of prescriptions; however your paid prescription co-pay is included in the program. Discounts are calculated after all of the aforementioned items, all store discounts and all coupons (including manufacturer coupons) have been subtracted from the offer.

2. Redeeming Discounts

 Can I use my accrued discount on mutliple fill-ups?
No. You can only use your discount on one fill-up whether it's 5 gallons or 15 gallons. Once you use your discount, you start over earning more for the next fill-up.

 Where can I redeem my discounts?
Any participating Sunoco stations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. To find a station near you, view the interactive station map.

 How do I redeem my discounts?
Go to Sunoco and follow these easy steps:

Paying with cash: Bring your AdvantEdge card inside to the station attendant

OR

Paying with Credit/Debit
  1. Press "Yes" at the pump - you have a full size AdvantEdge card
  2. Wait for the prompts to instruct you to insert your AdvantEdge card to lower the price
  3. Wait for the prompts to instruct you to insert your credit or debit card to pay
  4. Your discount will be displayed and the price will automatically drop
  5. Select payment option and pump your discounted gas.

If you've earned discounts worth more than the per-gallon price, remaining discounts will be saved automatically for a future visit.

 Can I share my points?
Technically, no - but if you have the same AdvantEdge card number as another family member, for example, you also share the discounts earned. This can happen when you give your spouse your card and then order a duplicate replacement. If a family member or friend uses a card with the same number as your card at the pump, they redeem your points. If everyone in your family has different card numbers, then each family member earns and redeems separately.

 Can I give my discounts away?
No. You can't transfer your discounts to another AdvantEdge account.

 What are the limits to redeeming?
For your safety, only one vehicle can be filled up per transaction, to prevent the risk of fire. Each transaction is limited to 20 gallons, which allows most customers to fill up one tank of gas. Once you reach your 20 gallon limit, the pump will stop.

 Must I use all my discounts on one fill-up?
You have the choice to either use all your discounts on the fill-up or not use any. You can't choose to use only a portion of your discount. If you have more discounts than the price of gas, then any remaining discounts will stay on your card for a later visit.

 If I forget my card, can I call to get my card number?
No. To protect your privacy, we won't give your AdvantEdge Card number to anyone verbally at the store or over the phone. Fuel discounts can only be redeemed with your "wallet size" Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card, so be sure to carry it with you.

 Can I use my driver's license to redeem?
No. Although a driver's license can be used to earn rewards at participating Price Chopper stores, Price Chopper doesn't share your personal information with outside companies such as Sunoco. This includes your driver's license number, address and phone number.

 Can I use my receipts or card number to redeem?
No. All redemptions require a full-sized Price Chopper AdvantEdge card.

 Can I use my keychain tag at the pump?
You can't use your keychain tag at the pump, just your "wallet-size" Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card with a working magnetic stripe. Price Chopper scans the barcode located on the back of the card, while Sunoco fuel pumps use card readers that process the information on the magnetic stripe. Worn, bent or demagnetized cards may not work in the pumps, but can be processed inside Sunoco stations.

You can still earn discounts by presenting your key tag at Price Chopper checkouts when making purchases. Mouseover the image at right and you'll see that the back of your key chain tag has the bar code used at Price Chopper checkouts, but lacks the magnetic stripe used by Sunoco gas pumps.

 Do I lose rewards if my discount is greater than the price of gas?
No. If you've earned discounts worth more than the per-gallon price, remaining discounts will be saved automatically for a future visit.There is no cash back for unused discounts.

 Can I fill two vehicles to maximize my discount?
No. For your safety, only one vehicle per transaction.

 Can I use gas cans or other containers to maximize my discount?
No. For your safety, gas cans or other containers aren't allowed in conjunction with the Fuel AdvantEdge program.

 Can I purchase discounted diesel fuel through the Fuel AdvantEdge program?
Yes, discounts are valid on gasoline and diesel fuel where available. See our list of participating stations.

 Can I get free gas if I accumulate enough Fuel AdvantEdge discounts?
Almost. Due to limitations of fuel dispensers, the price of gas can't be lowered below 2¢ or 10¢ per gallon (depending on the pump).

 Why is my available discount not divisible by 10¢?
Discounts earned over the price per gallon of gas will remain on your Price Chopper AdvantEdge card for a future visit. If you paid $1.93 per gallon and had a $2.10 per gallon discount, the remaining 17¢ per gallon discount will be available until it expires.

 I didn't get my Fuel AdvantEdge when fueling. Is it lost? Can I get a refund?
Rewards aren't lost if a discount isn't received. Your discount remains available and you'll continue to accumulate rewards until the next time you redeem, provided no discounts expire. Price Chopper doesn't issue cash or credit refunds.

 Why did I lose some of my Fuel AdvantEdge discounts?
Some of the discounts earned may have expired based on when they were earned. Discounts expire two months from the last day of the month in which they're earned.

Rewards earned on June 1st, 2009 expire on August 31st, 2009
Rewards earned on June 15th, 2009 expire on August 31st, 2009
Rewards earned on June 30th, 2009 expire on August 31st, 2009
Rewards earned on July 1st, 2009 expire on September 30th, 2009
Rewards earned on July 15th, 2009 expire on September 30th, 2009.

If any discounts are scheduled to expire at the end of the current month, your receipt will indicate the expirationn date and how much of your accumlated discounts are approaching expiration.

 Is there a limit to how much discounted gas I can pump?
Yes, there is a 20 gallon limit to the amount of discounted gas you can pump during each fill-up ... and on some pumps, due to pump limitations, if you select a mid or premium grade of gas, the pump will only allow you to pump slightly less than 20 gallons.

3. Tracking Discounts
 How do I keep track of my discounts?
We keep track for you. Just look at your receipt each time you shop at a participating Price Chopper. You can see your total available fuel discount beneath the Fuel AdvantEdge logo, with additional details such as how much of a discount you earned in that shopping trip. Also noted is when and how much of a previously earned discount will expire, and how much of your day's spending has accrued toward additional discounts you'll earn on return visits.

For a quick snapshot of your redeemable points balance, use our Fuel AdvantEdge Widget at right. It's not updated in real time, but can give you a relatively recent picture of your reward balance.

 Where is my card number printed on my receipt?
The last five digits of your AdvantEdge Card appear on your Price Chopper store receipts. These numbers should match the last five digits on the back of your wallet size AdvantEdge card and/or key tag.

 Do my discounts expire?
Discounts you earn will expire on a rolling schedule, two months from the last day of the month in which they were earned:

Rewards earned on June 1st, 2009 expire on August 31st, 2009
Rewards earned on June 15th, 2009 expire on August 31st, 2009
Rewards earned on June 30th, 2009 expire on August 31st, 2009
Rewards earned on July 1st, 2009 expire on September 30th, 2009
Rewards earned on July 15th, 2009 expire on September 30th, 2009.

4. Your AdvantEdge Card
 Do I need a new AdvantEdge card?
No - you just need your "wallet size" AdvantEdge Card with a working magnetic stripe on back to insert into the pump. Price Chopper doesn't swipe your card's magnetic stripe at our stores; we only scan the barcode. Be sure to test your AdvantEdge card at any checkout by swiping the magnetic stripe. If you get a "Card Read Failed" message, you'll need to order a replacement card. First-time cardholders can obtain their card at the Customer Services desk at any Price Chopper.

 How long will it take for me to receive my replacement AdvantEdge card?
It takes 7-10 business days for you to receive your replacement card, provided your name and address are listed correctly on your application. If information is inaccurate, it can take significantly longer.

 Why doesn't my full-size AdvantEdge card work at the Sunoco pump?
There are a few reasons your card may fail to work at a Sunoco pump, even if it works at Price Chopper. That's because at Price Chopper, we scan the bar code on the back of your card, while the Sunoco pump relies on the magnetic stripe on the card's back.

Here are some reasons your card might fail to work at the pump:

1. The Sunoco attendant may not have authorized the sale promptly.

2. The card reader may be dirty.

3. The system may be offline.

4. You may have also experienced an error at the pump.

5. In some Sunoco station pumps, you must press YES before inserting your AdvantEdge card.

6. You may have pressed YES but didn't insert your AdvantEdge Card, pumped fuel and presented your card inside the station for your discount.

7. You may have inserted your card incorrectly.
Perhaps you didn't allow enough time for the pump to prompt you to start pumping and thus didn't allow enough time for card information to process.

8. You may have inserted your credit card and began to fill-up before inserting your AdvantEdge Card.

Please remember key tags won't work at Sunoco pumps ... only your full-sized AdvantEdge Card will work. You can't enter your card number or driver's license number at the pump.

Cards may also fail if they are worn, bent, damaged or demagnetized.

It's also good to check to make sure the AdvantEdge Card you're using is the same one with which you earned your discounts, and that no one else in your family has already redeemed your discount.
