Recycling Is Everyday Business
The key action words for sustainability - reduce, reuse, recycle - haven't changed over the years, and neither has our commitment to taking those actions. For more than two decades, Price Chopper has salvaged and recycled products aggressively. This past year alone, more than a million pounds of salvaged dry packaged food was supplied to regional Food Banks, while upwards of 65,000 lbs. (1,875 loads) of cardboard and 20 million lbs. of plastic and glass bottles and aluminum cans were processed by our Resource Recovery Center. In addition to recycling millions of plastic bags each year, we introduced a reusable, washable, 100 percent post-consumer recycled woven propylene bag on Earth Day 2007 and continue to explore other environmental options.
