In-Store Devices Use Novel Approaches
We're always looking for equipment that reduces waste and optimizes efficiency. The revolutionary Bio X machine we're testing in our Marlborough, MA and Shelburne Rd., VT stores uses a patent-pending environmentally responsible process that converts all compostable organic material - produce, seafood, meat, small bones, bakery, etc. - into a liquid that can be disposed of down the drain, reducing the amount of energy traditionally expended in collecting these materials for diesel-fueled haul away from our stores. Another extraordinary new piece of equipment is the Tennant floor cleaning machine that employs echo technology, electrically activating highly oxygenated water to perform like a powerful detergent. Echo not only eliminates the environmental impact of producing, packaging, transporting, using and disposing of traditional cleaning chemicals, but it uses 70 percent less water than conventional scrubbing methods.
