Grades Improve With Better Vision
Want your kids to excel at school? Make sure they can see the day's lesson, say researchers who noted kids with poor vision significantly improved their test scores after just six weeks of consistently wearing prescription glasses. The study in the February issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology looked at 70 children, aged 3 to 5. About half had normal vision and half were diagnosed with poor vision. Both groups took two tests to measure performance at school. At first, the vision-impaired kids scored significantly lower on both tests - until they were provided with prescription glasses. The result: subsequent testing showed the children were at the same level as their peers with normal eyesight.
